A solar system can look like it's running while producing a fraction of what it should. The meter doesn't lie. The inverter display often does.
Sometimes that's the inverter. Sometimes it's a DC isolator on your roof that's let water in and corroded. You can't tell which from the ground, and the two repairs are nothing like the same job.
Either your system has stopped or your monitoring has. Those are two completely different problems, and one of them is a lot cheaper than the other.
One dead string. One isolator full of water. One panel quietly cooking. Systems rarely die all at once. They fade, and the loss hides in your bill.
Batteries fail differently to panels. It can be the cells, the battery management system, the hybrid inverter, or a settings problem that costs you nothing to fix.
Whatever yours is doing, the first question is the one nobody seems in a hurry to answer.
What actually failed?
Here's the part that doesn't get said out loud.
A new solar system is a large sale. A repair is a fraction of it and a couple of hours on site.
So when the company diagnosing your fault also sells new systems, they're being asked to give you advice that costs them money to give.
Most people are honest. Very few people are that honest.

WHAT WE ACTUALLY FIND
Same fault. Same roof. Two very different invoices, and only one of them depends on your system being written off.
We don't sell or install new systems.
Repairing and servicing what's already on your roof is the entire business. So when we tell you something needs replacing, it's because it does, and we'll put the evidence in front of you.
DIAGNOSE. REPAIR. OPTIMISE.
STEP 1 · DIAGNOSE
We test the system end to end: inverter, strings, DC isolators, battery, cabling, switchboard connections, insulation resistance and earth continuity, and measured output against what your system should be making in that light. We're looking for the point of failure, not a reason to write a quote.
STEP 2 · SHOW
Photos. Readings. Plain English. You see the failed component, not a line item on an invoice. And if you want to take that evidence to someone else for a second opinion, take it.
STEP 3 · REPAIR
Most of what we find is repairable. Some of it isn't. If a unit is finished, we'll say so, show you why, and explain why replacing that one component still beats replacing everything on your roof.
STEP 4 · OPTIMISE
Not a paid invoice and a hope. We confirm the system is generating properly, the settings are right, and your monitoring is reporting again, before we pack up.
Then the 12-month clock starts. More on that in a moment.
Inverter faults.Error codes, shutdowns, blank screens, fan failures, board faults. We work out whether the unit can be repaired, needs a part, or has reached the end.
Battery and hybrid system faults.Capacity loss, charging and discharging problems, battery management system errors, hybrid inverter faults, and settings that were never configured properly in the first place.
DC isolator and wiring faults.Rooftop isolators are one of the most common failure points on Australian systems. Water gets in, the contacts corrode, and the string drops out.
Dead and underperforming strings. When one section of your array stops contributing, the rest keeps running and the loss disappears into your bill instead of onto your screen.
Low output with no obvious cause.Shade, dirt, panels ageing, grid voltage, an inverter set up wrong, or a tariff change at your retailer that has nothing to do with the solar at all. We work out which one is costing you.
Electrical and safety issues.Loose connections, damaged cabling, failed breakers, heat damage at the switchboard. These are the faults you want found before they find you.
Servicing before something breaks.Catch the corroded isolator in spring, not in the middle of February when you need the system most.
Health check and written report.Full inspection, testing and photographs, with a written record of what's working, what isn't, and what's coming.
We diagnose these, test them and repair them. We don't sell new ones.
Plus the older brands that left Australia and took their support with them. If your installer is gone and your inverter brand no longer exists here, you're exactly who we're for.
We're an independent repairer. We're not affiliated with these manufacturers unless stated.
Your system should be properly diagnosed before anyone decides it needs replacing.
WHAT USUALLY HAPPENS
WHAT HAPPENS WITH US
When we repair a fault we've diagnosed, we stand behind it.
If that same fault returns within 12 months because of our repair or our workmanship, we come back and fix it. No second call-out fee. No second labour charge.
You shouldn't have to pay twice for the same repair.
The form below takes about thirty seconds.
We call you back the same day, and we tell you what the visit costs.
A time that suits you, not a vague window.
We test the system, show you what we found, and you decide what happens next.
You're not committing to a repair by filling this in. You're committing to finding out what's actually wrong with your system, which is more than most people are being offered right now.
In the meantime, the system isn't generating. You'll see it on the next bill. And water in an isolator doesn't dry out on its own. It gets worse through winter.
We call you once about this job. We don't sell your details and we don't add you to a list.

P.S. If another company has already quoted you to replace the whole system, bring the quote with you. We'll tell you honestly whether they're right.
Sometimes they are.
